According to the latest data of customs, China's silicon carbide exports in July 2009 were 71,240.95 tons, with a year-on-year decline of 76.52%. The month-on-month decline was 47.2 per cent. The export quantity of silicon carbide from Japan and South Korea, the main export countries, began to rise compared with June, in which the export volume to Japan was 3034.27 tons, with a sequential increase of 20.26%. The export volume to South Korea was 1268.61 tons, with a sequential increase of 38.18%. The amount of silicon carbide exported to the United States was 139.4 tons, a sequential decline of 98.14 percent.
In terms of imports, China imported 90.995 tons of silicon carbide in July, down 54.97% year on year and up 484.84% month on month.
